Why this price?
Okidoky costs €1.50 a month or €25 once. Here's how we arrive at that price.
Our philosophy in one sentence
We want Okidoky to be affordable enough that price is never a reason to quit, but sustainable enough that we still exist in 5 years without investors, advertising, or selling your data.
That means: no free version that traps you later with features you really need, and no tricks when you want to cancel.
Where does your money go?
Roughly how our monthly costs per paying user break down. Not exact figures, but a good picture.
Note: these percentages are an average estimate. For a single user the ratios differ (fixed hosting costs weigh heavier). This is a total picture across our user base.
Cost breakdown
- Servers & tech30%
Servers in Europe, backups and sending emails. This grows with the number of users.
- Development & maintenance40%
The biggest expense: time. New features, fixing bugs, and keeping the app safe and up to date.
- Support & communication8%
Personal help by email within 48 hours, the help pages and newsletters. Single maker, direct line.
- Security and rules12%
Keeping your data safe and protecting your privacy under European rules. This doesn't cost much more as we grow, but it does matter.
- Payments & banks6%
Costs for processing payments (iDEAL, credit card) and accounting. About 3% of each payment goes to the payment provider.
- Other4%
Domain registration, hosting admin, KVK, business insurance, tools (design, analytics, test accounts for compatibility).
Current numbers are on /in-cijfers. We don't share full profit figures, but we do show how the costs are built up.
Why €0, €1.50 and €25?
Every price has a reason. Here's why, for each one.
€0
€0 — for those who want to try
Free gives you the time and space to decide without financial pressure. All core features are included. No time limit. We pay the hosting costs of free accounts because eventually a small percentage upgrades — that's enough.
€1,50/mnd
€1.50/mo — less than a coffee
This is the lowest price at which we just cover our costs. Lower doesn't add up, higher feels too expensive for what it is. €18 a year is a deliberate choice.
€25 one-off
€25 one-off — long-term trust
Equivalent to ~16 months of Premium. Buying Lifetime says: 'I trust you'll still be here in 5 years and I don't want to think about subscriptions every month'. For us it's prepaid operating margin, for you it's peace of mind.
How does this compare to the rest?

Our pricing principles
Four non-negotiable rules for how we handle your money.
Price doesn't change by surprise
If we raise prices, existing users get at least 90 days advance notice, an explanation why, and keep their old price for at least 12 months. No sneaky indexation.
No free trial that charges automatically
If you try something, you have to actively decide to continue. You don't leave a credit card behind that you later have to remember to cancel.
Your data is always yours
Cancelling? Then you can download everything — all your data in one file. Also with a Lifetime account. Also 10 years later. Your data stays yours.
Lifetime is truly lifetime
As long as Okidoky exists, your Lifetime license applies. If we ever close, you get 180 days advance notice plus a complete data export. No 'lifetime' that suddenly becomes 'Premium' after 2 years.
Frequently asked questions about pricing
Why not completely free, like some banking apps?
Free apps usually earn from your data, ads, or reselling financial products. We want none of those. For €1.50 a month you simply pay for the app, and your data stays yours.
Do existing users get discounts?
All Premium subscriptions are already at the lowest price. We don't do 'special offers'. But: Lifetime was €19 in the early days — we keep that price for those who bought it then.
What if I have Premium and then buy Lifetime?
Your ongoing Premium subscription stops immediately and unused months are deducted pro-rata from the Lifetime price. Email us — we handle it manually, fairly calculated.
Can I get an invoice for my accounting?
Yes, automatically. Every payment immediately generates a VAT-compliant invoice (PDF) with KVK number, VAT number and your details. Downloadable from your account or received by email.
What about currency differences or international customers?
All prices are in euros, including VAT for consumers in the EU. Customers outside the EU see prices without VAT. Business customers in the EU with a valid VAT number don't pay VAT to us. Your bank may charge exchange-rate fees — nothing we can do about that.
Try it yourself
Try Okidoky for 14 days, no credit card. If you don't like it, it just stops.
