How do I install Okidoky on Windows?
The Windows app is a lightweight program (~9 MB) you don't need to install. Click the download button, open Okidoky-Setup-latest.exe and log in with your existing account or create one right there — the app starts immediately.
Why is the download so small?
As of version 1.0.5 the Windows app is a native program with no bundled browser. That keeps the download to about 9 MB instead of the hundreds of MB of the old version.
Is Okidoky safe? Why does Windows Defender show a warning?
Yes, Okidoky is safe and virus-free. Because we are a small publisher, Windows SmartScreen sometimes shows an “unknown publisher” warning on brand-new releases. Click “More info” and then “Run anyway”. A SHA-256 checksum is available on request to verify integrity.
Are updates installed automatically?
Not yet. We announce new versions on the download page; just download the latest Okidoky-Setup-latest.exe and replace the old file. Automatic updates are planned for a later version.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. The Windows app works with your online account, so you need an internet connection to view and update your data. A full offline mode is not part of this version yet.
What are the system requirements?
64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a few dozen MB of free disk space and an internet connection. A camera or scanner is not required — you can upload receipts from your phone.
Can I use the same account on desktop and on my phone?
Yes. One account works on any device: desktop app on Windows, web app on your laptop, PWA on your phone. Everything syncs in real time.
How do I uninstall Okidoky?
The Windows app is a standalone program — just delete the Okidoky file you downloaded. Your data remains stored online under your account; you can delete the account itself via your profile or by emailing info@okidoky.nl.
Your files and transactions stay yours. Okidoky syncs them encrypted.
